Purchased a dumpy bag of logs for home delivery from Mr S. I was informed that the logs had been seasoned for two years and therefore ready to burn. The logs which arrived were scots pine, with a very high moisture level and completely unsuitable for burning in a wood stove. The dishonesty of Mr S. has caused huge problems, as I still need to source some logs before Christmas. More seriously, passing off unseasoned logs as ready to burn is hugely iresponsible, as attempting to burn these logs will cause a cresote build up in chimenys and flues, leading to potential fire. In addition to this the logs in thier unseasoned state give off very little heat. Mr S. has refused to collect and refund the payment for the logs, stating that he never claimed that they were seasoned. I will be reporting this to the relevent authorities due the fact that Mr S. has a legal obligation to ensure the safety or his customers.
