I took my car in for an MOT at Kwik Fit in Chorley recently and after inspection was told that it had failed its MOT due a broken front spring. I was annoyed but paid over £200 to have the front two replaced. I remember thinking at the time that I should have requested to see the broken spring. I later went to have my brakes inspected and overheard a member of staff informing a customer that their car had failed its MOT for exactly the same reason (word for word). This rang alarm bells to me and I suspect that this is a scam to illicit more money from customers. If my suspicions are correct then this is an absolutely disgraceful practice and should be brought to the attention of Trading Standards. I would like to warn anyone who is thinking of havving an MOT done at Kwik Fit Chorley to be on the alert.
