CLAYGATE DISTRIBUTION LTD - MARDEN, KE

Terrible experience with Claygate products when bought via a wholesaler in France. Project delayed so all items were dry stored at the wholesalers until installation. Many of the items not good quality - warped shower tray, crease on cabinet door which could only have occurred at manufacturing stage, cabinet handles and taps became flaky/tarnished within a year, basin became scratched and marked after less than a year (apparently impossible with a ceramic basin!) and incredibly, a bathroom mirror came out of it's box with rust marks/spots all around! Months and months of email discussions with the sales director, continually having to chase, excuse after excuse (eg can't send a replacement because the manufacturer is no longer in business - umm, wonder why that is?!), I was told several times a part refund had been cleared but each time nothing and I had to chase again! Eventually after more than 6 months I received a small part refund, but not enough for all the hassle and the fact that I will have to replace inferior products. While my wholesaler tried his best to resolve my issues, Claygate steadfastly refused to do any more. I would advise any wholesalers not to buy anything from them and members of the public to avoid any product that comes from them. I would have been far better off purchasing from any normal DIY outlet, I would have got better quality and paid far less. Very expensive lesson learned!
